Sherbet making

This week we continued our Science focus by learning about the chemical reaction that occurs when we eat sherbet.

After tasting icing sugar - and describing it as sweet, and then tasting some citric acid - and deciding that was sour - we mixed the two together with some other ingredients and made our own sherbet. 

We followed a recipe and learnt about how important it is to measure with measuring cups and spoons accurately. 

 

We wrote our own recipes for sherbet and were very excited to take some home to share with others.
